Slasher Spotted by Tank: Alive and Still Fisty

Slasher has been living the high life here in Fallbrook after being rescued from the coyote hills, neutered and then adopted by Tank's family. Although he is not our typical lap kitty, he carries a certain charm. He lives in and around the barn with the horses keeping (we think) the rats and mice out. If I was a rat or mouse I would run for as far away as possible. Since his adoption and release into the barn, we have had no sightings of Slasher, only knowledge that he is among us. Every day at the same time his food is put out. Every morning the food is gone. His food is kept in the hay barn with only an opening for Slasher to enter and exit. We see no remnants of any other animal so we believie it is Slasher. Every morning the family asks did Slasher eat last night and a sigh of relief by all is heard when the answer is a resounding, YES, the food was gone. We believe he watches us too so as to avoid contact! Then, today, Tank encountered the Great Slasher. Continuing his tail wags and big smile, Tank happily barked to alert his family Slasher is alive and well just as we all expected. Slasher then disappeared as fast as he appeared until another day. Feral cats are the best! I believe once they know they are loved (all it takes is some food and a place for safe shelter) they will watch over you and make sure you are rodent free. The Fallbrook Animal Sanctuary does a lot of great things for this community. One great thing is it allows the community to adopt wonderful dogs and cats, including feral cats to the appropriate homes of course. All must be spayed or neutered. Come volunteer! We need you!!! www.fallbrookanimalsanctuary.org.  Slasher may have a face only a mother could love, but fondly Tank's family has found a place in their hearts for Slasher.

Kitties for Seniors, What a Great Program!

Today I was thankful because I have a my own family, but I feel sad for all my furry friends that await their forever family. Did you know that the Fallbrook Animal Sanctuary makes having a furry friend so simple? For qualified seniors, and you know it does not mean you are old, it just means you are grown up enough to have a cat of your own (hee hee). Anyway, for those that want a cat and are "senior" enough to have a cat of their own, the Fallbrook Animal Sanctuary, will provide you a kitty at no charge. For those that don't drive anymore, they will pick you up and take you to the sanctuary to let you pick out your own special kitty.  They will provide you with the food! They will provide you with the kitty litter. They will even, if you are not able, come by and clean the litter box each week and make sure each week your kitty is taking good care of you! Wow. Of course, kitty has to be living in Fallbrook silly. My kitty friends need homes. I love my kitty family at my house but we are at full capacity plus we have our own neutered feral kitty. (Slasher is his name, yikes!) Please adopt one of our kitties. They will lower your blood pressure, make you happier, and warm your lap. They may even make you laugh out loud once in awhile. Promise.

Adoptee Pierre at Window

Pierre, the adorable cat, raised by special volunteer Elyssa, looks out the window of Big Dog's house. He thinks he is a dog. He runs after the kids. He plops down on his back wanting belly rubs. Waits at the window til Big Dog comes in. Rescue is the way to go folks. No love like a dog or cat that finds love in someone who truly wants them in their hearts and homes. Fallbrook Animal Sanctuary, saving lives, both furry and human, by bringing the two together! www.fallbrookanimalsanctuary.org

Check Out Our Window Dressing

Local Artist has given of his time graciously to paint the windows at the Fallbrook Animal Sanctuary! Come, check it out! We are so excited as things come together. We are working to complete the kennel project. We are saving lives of our furry friends while at the same time offering our community a no kill option! The only no-kill in North County. Volunteer opportunities are open and needed. Donations are always welcomed with open arms as we operate solely on donations and volunteers. Pet Adoptions are available. Spring is in the air, so we anticipate many rescues in the near future of those puppies and kitties that people did not expect. Remember spay and neuter your pets.  www.fallbrookanimalsanctuary.org

Recycles Earn Cash Today For the Fallbrook Animal Sanctuary

In the pouring down rain, and I mean pouring, my boy Jacob turned in all of the recycles he collected from the neighborhood. And then he brought the proceeds, every cent, over to the Fallbrook Animal Sanctuary donating $57.66 to them. His plan is to do this every two weeks but he needs your help. Please save your  aluminum cans, water bottles (all sizes) and beer bottles for him. He will pick them up or you can drop them by the Fallbrook Animal Sanctuary as he goes there often to volunteer. Believe it or not it makes a difference for the animals being rescued. We have lots of cats on medications that would otherwise be euthanized that we have rescued. Medication is EXPENSIVE and so is Vet care. We operate ONLY on donations, so please help. www.fallbrookanimalsanctuary.org

Mural Planned And More...........

This is Pierre. He was adopted from the Fallbrook Animal Sanctuary. The family that now has him has been blessed with this furry friend's cute antics that include rolling around on the floor until his tummy is rubbed. His family is working hard at more donations for the sanctuary by collecting bottles and cans for Jacob Oatman, the 13 year old boy and his younger sister. They are building an empire of support - can you help them? The sanctuary has been helping the community in so many ways, but it needs more funds. Urgently we need donations to finish projects like the grates and drains for the kennels which are planned for immediate building. Once done the Sanctuary can offer so much more to North County. We also have a wonderful mural planned where anyone can honor their beloved pet by donating $300.00 or $150.00 to have their furry loved friend painted in the mural for the world to adore and honor. My owners are planning honoring members of my family, won't you???????

Donations Needed! Help Us Build the Kennels We Need Now!

Animal Rescue on a shoestring is not easy. Donations are constantly needed and more than you can imagine. The Fallbrook Animal Sanctuary runs only with volunteers and donations, nothing else. The Fur Pet's Sake thrift store is just starting to bring in small amounts of money, but we need donations urgently. With the recent move into our real digs here in Fallbrook came many unexpected expenses. We have helped so many people since we opened. One nice person in need came in with her beloved dog in urgent need of medical treatment. Unfortunately veternarians could not assist because she had no funds to pay immediately. We helped save her dog which otherwise would have sufferred horribly, but this is a service we cannot afford to provide. The woman has been so kind as to find ways to give back to us that it has been a blessing on many levels. Another person came in claiming to have found a dog wanting to turn him into us, but what was really going on because of recent downtimes the person was no longer able to care for the furry friend and family at the same time. We are helping and we found a way for the person to help the sanctuary. Another blessing. What we are finding  is a TREMENDOUS need here in North County to offer more assistance than I think the community realizes. So many people are just letting animals go on the streets or in groves because they have no means to support their families and their pets. PLEASE, BIG DOG IS BEGGING, NOT FOR TREATS, BUT FOR YOUR SUPPORT IN THE FORM OF FINANCIAL DONATIONS. It is urgent.

Right now, we need to immediately set up the kennels to get our kennel license. To do so is at great expense and after our move funds are low. Once we get the kennel license then we can apply for becoming a partner to Animal Control. That will benefit the community by allowing us to keep lost and stray dogs in our community at the Sanctuary here in North County. Please find it in your heart today to help the animals, especially the dogs and puppies in immediate need, in our community!  My boy Jacob is getting all of the neighbors and friends he has to save recycles to turn to cash to give to help the sanctuary. If you have recycles drop them at the Sanctuary and Jacob will turn it to cash.
Every penny will go to the rescued animals. If a thirteen year old boy like my Jacob can do it maybe you can give up one cup of Starbucks for us? What do you say? Please!

Big Dog is So Happy, Two Dog Pals Adopted !

Great news two of my best dog pals are adopted and will remain together. Fanastic!!! The Fallbrook Animal Sanctuary is doing super great things. We just need those donations no matter how small to come is so we can keep on running because the pets at the sanctuary rely soley on them. We do not get any tax funds etc. The costs of caring for each rescued pet is high and we also have an infirmary where we house sick pets that come to us and guess what - the vet bills are not cheap. Please keep us serving your community.  We are also collecting bottles and cans that can be turned in for cash. Jane Oatman will pick up when you have a batch.

Jacob and Friends Collecting Water Bottles and Cans for the Animals

Jacob and Friends are calling on all friends to help the Fallbrook Animal Sanctuary. They are collecting cans, bottles that are recyclable, and all water bottles to raise money each month for my animal friends that we support at the Fallbrook Animal Sanctuary. We will pick them up from you in our area when you have a batch. Please save them for us so we can make some money for the animals. Every little bit helps and I truly mean it.

Plus, Plus Plus, your contribution will support our cause - saving my friends at the Fallbrook Animal Sanctuary!! Nothing is better than that!

You can buy them online too but please make extra sure you use the drop down menu and select the Fallbrook Animal Sanctuary as your charitable selection otherwise we lose out and we don't want that to happen because my furry buds will be sad.

Big Dog is Adopting SLASHER

Big Dog is Adopting SLASHER

Although this kitty comes with a warning  - Do Not Touch. Keep Your Hands and Fingers Away from the Cage, Big Dog saw through that knarling snare, the hissing and spitting. This Feral kitty, now fixed and ready to go home to that special someone, has found his home. Big Dog's house. Slasher will live in the warm hay barn and be the protector of the horses. No one will mess with the guy! We will not be able to pet or cuddle Slasher, but we will certainly give him a place to be his genuine self and that is all we can really hope for in life. Thank you Big Dog for seeing past the scary fangs and bringing this bad boy home. Note to all pesky varments that attempt to eat the hay and grain - be scared, be very very scared. The Fallbrook Animal Sanctuary is the only no kill facility in North County. Please find it in your heart to donate so we can find homes for even those that may otherwise not find a home. Adopt a pet today. It may make you smile!  www.fallbrookanimalsanctuary.orgwww.fallbrookanimalsanctuary.org

Avatar - The Wonder Cat

The Fallbrook Animal Sanctuary is looking for some wonderful volunteers and sponsers. We have just opened in our new location in Fallbrook located at 230 W. Aviation, Fallbrook, CA 92028.  We also have a gently used store featuring animal accessories and other items for sale to support our sanctuary. In case you don't know, we are the only non kill animal sanctuary in North County. It is with the donations of people like you that we are able to service this area. Just this week, a pregnant dog in great distress was brought to us. We were able to get it the vet attention it urgently needed and help a local family. However, without donations and support we cannot offer this service. Please put us on your giving list. For the cost of a latte you help feed a cat or dog that would otherwise not be saved. Any size donation will help feed and shelter the animals at the sanctuary.  Did you know that you can also sponser a Cat or Dog while it lives at the sanctuary until the forever family is found? That is one great way to help!

Check out Avatar. This adoptable kitty has quite the haircut! No, he is not wearing a sweater. Looking for that special someone - is it you?

Big Dog Loves this Kitty, "Socks"

Look at Me! Socks is absolutely adorable. Loves the limelight. He would love to come home with you and cuddle. The grey and white socked cat is purrfect!

Come see me and my friends, lots of cats and dogs for adoption at the Fallbrook Animal Sanctuary. www.fallbrookanimalsanctuary.org
